Agate & Chalcedony

Machining Challenges

Natural variation, inclusions, cleavage or brittle edges can cause chipping and uneven scratch removal during shaping and polishing.

Recommended Diamond Tool Solutions

Use thin diamond saw blades for trimming, diamond grinding/cabbing wheels for shaping, and progressively finer diamond discs, belts or polishing media for surface refinement. Adjust pressure to cleavage and fracture behavior.
